Sorie Alfred Dumbuya – Finance/Administrative Manager

Sorie Alfred Dumbuya is the Finance and Administrative Manager at Meraki Analytics, where he finds strong motivation in collaborative, data-driven development work. His role reflects his commitment to leveraging data science and research to drive impactful change across sectors. With over 20 years of practical experience in finance, administration, and education, Sorie is proficient in applying the principles and practices of administration and management, including accounting, auditing, and personnel management.

He holds a MSc in Educational Leadership and Management, a BSc (Hons) in Financial Services and a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Education and Statistics from the University of Sierra Leone. Additionally, he earned a Certificate in Guidance and Counselling from DISCET Sierra Leone, strengthening his capacity to mentor and support individuals both academically and professionally.

Sorie began his career as a teacher at the Albert Academy Senior Secondary School in 2004, later becoming Head of the Mathematics Department in 2018. During his two decades at the school, he was instrumental in improving academic performance, discipline, and the teaching of mathematics, while mentoring both students and junior staff. His professional journey also includes serving as Back Operations Officer and Payments Officer at ProCredit Bank SL Ltd from 2008 to 2010, where he gained extensive experience in loan processing, banking operations, and stores management.

In 2020, Sorie joined the National COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre (NaCoVERC) as Budget and Finance Officer under the Psychosocial Pillar, contributing to financial planning, budgeting, and fund management to support the nation’s psychosocial response to the pandemic. He currently serves as the Director of Finance for the National Pentecostal Mission (NPM) Sierra Leone, ensuring financial transparency, accountability, and sustainability across the organization’s nationwide network of churches.

A long-serving educator and finance professional, Sorie is deeply passionate about youth development, institutional growth, and human development. His leadership has left a lasting impact on education, faith-based finance, and development research.

Beyond his professional commitments, Sorie is a family-oriented individual, married and a proud father of three sons. He enjoys sports—particularly football—and is an ardent supporter of Manchester United Football Club.
