Haja Binta Bah – Research Assistant

Haja Binta Bah brings strength, care, and curiosity into every project she touches. As a Research Assistant at Meraki Analytics Limited, she plays a key role in turning data into meaningful insights that help improve health, education, and development outcomes across Sierra Leone.

Her journey began at St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School, where she built a strong academic foundation and developed the discipline and determination that still guide her today. She later went on to earn an Honours degree in Chemistry from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, blending scientific thinking with a growing passion for research.

Recently, she played a key role in the Global School Leaders (GSL) survey, where she supported back checks on enumerators to ensure that data collected in the field was complete and accurate. Her attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies helped strengthen the integrity of the overall findings.

Binta is continuously expanding her skills, especially in tools like Google Sheets, KoboToolbox, and Excel. She is also exploring more advanced areas like data visualization and impact evaluation. Her goal is to strengthen how evidence can inform better programs and smarter decisions in Sierra Leone and beyond.

What makes Binta stand out is her balance. She is quietly confident, always willing to learn, and never afraid to ask questions. She takes her work seriously but never loses her human touch. She believes that good data tells real stories about communities, challenges, and the opportunities to make things better — and that is what drives her.

Outside of the office, Binta is easy-going and fun to be around. She loves achekeh (do not ask her to share it!), enjoys learning new things online, and values her quiet time just as much as she enjoys meaningful conversations. She is not loud, but she is deeply thoughtful. She may not always be the first to speak, but when she does, her words carry weight and meaning.

At the core of it all, Binta simply wants to do good work that matters. She is not chasing titles; she is building trust, learning every day, and showing up with purpose. Whether it’s through data, teamwork, or quiet support in the background, she hopes her efforts help make things just a little better for her team, her community, and her country.
